Yaphet Getachew

Yaphet Getachew (PC  ‘16) is a Global Affairs major in the International Development track who is interested in focusing on health policy and economics. His interest in working with health care in developing countries began after his first trip to Ethiopia and has only grown after working with the Yale Refugee Project last year and living in Ecuador this past summer.  He hopes to return to Ethiopia soon to work on issues of health care access, affordability, and hospital management in rural areas. His current activities on campus include being his college’s representative on the Yale College Council, the Students’ Activities Chair for Pierson College, and a member of the African a capella group, Asempa.
