Tsedenya Simmie (JE '19) is an anthropology and sociology major with a concentration in health and society. She is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her experiences in Ethiopia introduced and shaped her interests in pursuing a career in health care. Her interests were further defined by the experiences and opportunities she has had at Yale. Specifically, Tsedenya is interested in how improvements in health systems can address high burdens of communicable disease. On campus, Tsedenya is involved in the Yale African Students Association, Yale UNICEF and Yale Young African Scholars. After graduating from Yale, she hopes to pursue a Masters of Public Health.
