Sarah Householder

Sarah Householder (BK '18) is a Modern Middle Eastern Studies major, though she intends to attend medical school after graduation. In the future, she wants to work for a medical humanitarianism organization, particularly in the Middle East, that provides care during complex emergency situations. Sarah has studied Arabic in Morocco two summers, during which time she volunteered at a shelter for women from broken marriages and a center for vulnerable children. She also participated in a medical service trip to rural Panama last spring break. During the school year Sarah volunteers at Yale-New Haven Hospital in the pediatric emergency ward and at the Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services foundation, where she tutors refugee children after school. In addition, Sarah is active in fine arts on campus and is a member of the theater and a cappella communities. Along with other musicians she participates in a group called Hear My Song, which provides a musical and creative outlet for children with chronic health conditions.
