Priyankar Chand

Priyankar Chand (MC'16) is from Kathmandu, Nepal, and studied in India before coming to Yale. He is pursuing a double major in Global Affairs and Anthropology with a concentration in international development. He is particularly interested in the developmental processes in Nepal and how health and education can play important roles in developing countries. He also wants to understand global health through the perspective of social sciences. For the summer of 2013 he was awarded the Davis Projects for Peace grant, with fellow Yalie Sampada KC, to reconstruct a school in rural Nepal. He also interned at Dhulikhel Hospital in Nepal, where he worked as a grant writer and studied rural healthcare management. At Yale, Priyankar is the Program Assistant for the Yale Himalaya Initiative and a member of the Nepali Association of Yale Affiliates. In the future he wants to work to provide healthcare solutions in developing countries.
