Naaman Mehta

Naaman Mehta (MC ’15) is originally from Lexington, Virginia and pursuing a Biology degree. Outside of academics, Naaman loves working with high school students and has designed science outreach programs for local New Haven students through the organization Synapse.  She also serves as the Managing Editor for the Yale Scientific Magazine, has collaborated with Fundacion Neotropica to lead a research trip to Costa Rica, and is currently working on a community based research project to evaluate the youth perceptions of violence in New Haven. She is specifically interested in the gender disparity related to access to care for chronic diseases, particularly in South Asia. In the future, Naaman hopes to work with in-country institutions to help develop educational programs for chronic disease prevention and care specifically catered to women in low-middle income countries.
