Leslie Wang

Leslie Wang (JE '19) is a Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology major at Yale College, with her research interests concentrated on developing foundational technologies that enable cellular and genome engineering to understand and modify biological systems. Leslie was born and raised in Nanjing, China, where she grew up deeply connected to a community for children with diabetes. Before coming to Yale, she witnessed many progresses in China’s health care system along with much room for improvement. Her interests in global health orientates around non-communicable/chronic diseases management in developing countries, as well as patient activism and how social understanding of medicine impacts health care practices. On campus, she is an active member of the Yale iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition) team and Yale Dramatic Association.
