Jude Alawa

Jude Alawa (BR '19) is a prospective Global Affairs and Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics double major. He is from Miami, Florida by way of Damascus, Syria and is interested in the intersection between medicine and international affairs, especially in conflict and post-conflict zones. Stemming from his efforts to deliver water-purification devices to Syrian refugee camps across the Middle East, Jude recognizes the potential for targeted humanitarian interventions. He hopes to study and craft effective measures to increase access to health care and medical technology in marginalized and developing communities. At Yale, Jude is active in the Yale International Relations Association (YIRA), Yale Rotaract, Instrumental Connection, and as a research assistant at the Yale Medical School.
