Joy Chiu

Joy Chiu (JE '19) is a Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology major from Naperville, IL. Her interest in public health began in middle school when she began studying the epidemiology of foodborne illnesses for class. This interest quickly evolved into a fascination with germs and infectious agents. Joy is currently working in the YSM's Section of Infectious Diseases studying antimalarial and antifungal treatments. As a fellow, she looks forward to investigating modern global challenges in treating infectious diseases, including the efficacy of drugs in different populations. On campus, Joy plays the bells in Harkness Tower (and would love to take people up the tower for tours!) and volunteers for the Peabody Museum collections.
