Cassandra Lignelli

Cassandra Lignelli (DC ’18) is an Anthropology major.  She specializes in women’s reproductive health and is especially interested in the ways health systems can reinforce gendered power dynamics. She is passionate about increasing accessibility of reproductive health services to underserved communities. On campus, Cassie has served on the Women’s Center Board and coordinated Sex Week 2015. She also enjoys spending time with friends in Davenport’s pottery studio. Cassie is currently training to become a doula, which is an emotional support companion for women in labor. In her free time, she enjoys reading, kayaking, and spending time with family.

    During this internship, I conducted legal research and literature reviews in support of the organization's policy proposals, created training materials for local advocates and lawmakers on health issues,  and wrote translational guides for healthcare consumers to better understand and access healthcare services.
