Caroline Tangoren

Caroline Tangoren (TD ’18) is a prospective Sociology and Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology double major. She is interested in the impact of structural violence and social networks on the spread of communicable diseases, specifically HIV. Her work with a community-development based approach to combatting HIV in South Africa and research on food insecurity and nutritional status in Ecuador have taught her the importance of contextualizing global health problems and interventions for greatest efficacy. At Yale, Caroline is the Ecuador site manager for Student Partnerships for Global Health, Conference Director for Yale UNICEF, and a research assistant at the Yale Child Study Center.
