Alyssa Bilinski (CC ’13) is studying political science with an emphasis on health policy and global health and has been accepted into the Five-Year BA/MPH Program in Biostatistics. Since freshman year, Alyssa has studied health disparities in cervical cancer precursors at the Connecticut Emerging Infections Program where she co-authored papers that will be published in the American Journal of Public Health and Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2012. Alyssa also has worked for the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network as an intern in its policy department and as a rape crisis counselor and researcher for its hotline. At Yale, Alyssa’s activities include Wishing Well, which raises money for clean-water wells in developing countries, and the Yale Debate Association, where she finished 2nd at the North American Championships in 2011. In addition, she serves as Administration Lieutenant for Yale Emergency Medical Services, Institutional Service Coordinator for Dwight Hall and Co-President of Cupcakes with a Heart, where she enjoys baking fancy cupcakes for charity. In the future, she intends to study statistics in global health and their role in evidence-based policy.
